Druz had his one year check up today. Poor thing had three shots. He did good. Only cried for a few seconds after the shots. Tatum tagged along and got to pick out a sticker for being so good.
He is 24 pounds which is in the 75th percentile (Tatum was 27 pounds at this age) and he is 30 inches, which put him in the 90th percentile for height. No question about it. He is a big boy!
We were headed to a birthday party afterwards so I guess that will be the pay off for the shots!

More pictures of the birthday boy!
With his birthday hat
Happy Boy!
Messy Messy!
Birthday bubble bath
Telling us he is 1!
Birthday breakfast!
Druz is 1!!!
He is into everything and climbs on everything. He is definitely a boy! He bites too. His little teeth are SHARP! He loves putting things in buckets or anything that looks like one. You wouldn't believe the things I find in the bath tub, laundry baskets, trash cans, and sometimes the toilet (when I forget to put the seat down!)

The fun never ends
Tatum had a rough day with gymnastics, playing at Ms. Diana's and then playing with more friends at the gym.
Unfortunately, this nap only lasted until I got her out of the car.
To keep the kiddos entertained before dinner we decided to finger paint outside.
I turned my back for a split second to ask Mom to bring me out another sheet of paper and when I turned back around, this is what I found. This kid is QUICK!
Gymnastics Performace
Tatum had her end of the year gymnastics performance today.
Her backwards somersault
Her impressive bar moves
Walking on the balance beam
Getting her medal!
All the kids did such a great job!
Tatum and Aslynn posing after their awards
My little star
Aslynn, Zander, Tatum, and Joey. This is her normal class but they combined the two classes for the performance.
Aunt Vicki and Grandma came to watch. Aunt Vicki even brought her a rose.

So sweet it makes me want to cry
As I was driving today, I looked at the kids in the rear-view mirror and caught the sweetest little moment. Neither was saying anything just quietly riding in their seats. These are the moments I want to remember forever!

Mother's Day
The Mom's had a very nice day.
Vicki, Mom, and I went to Rio Mambo for brunch while Dylan stayed home with all 4 kids.
Having a poinsettia on the patio
The boys and Tatum took care of dinner. It was very sweet. They did a really good job and the food was great.
Dylan took the kids swimming while we were at brunch. So when we got home we joined in on the fun.
The four kids, hanging out outside.
Getting ready to leave for brunch

Keepin' it going
I have a triathlon in two weeks and am starting to freak out about it. Have I trained enough? Am I ready? Should I be doing something different?
I get nervous just thinking about it.
I did a 5k today at my gym. It wasn't "officially" timed but about 100 people came out and ran. I finished with a PR (9:24/mile). I was pretty proud of myself. Let's hope I can do as well after swimming and biking!

The route took me by the post office on the way out and in. Dylan and the kids sat in the parking lot cheering me on. Sweet little family.
And what's a weekend without a trip to the park. Parr Park has become "our place" so we usually end up there on the weekends at some point.

I remember being picked up from school early the day Tyler was born. I was SO excited to meet him. I loved babysitting him. I would take him to my pep rally's at school and homecoming parades and just show him off everywhere. I loved that little guy.
We grew up together.
He turned 17 today. I just can't believe it.

The birthday boy!
This explains a lot!
He requested a double decker chocolate eclair...Mom never disappoints.
Aunt Vicki and Tatum...Tatum didn't want to give up the balloons.

Night Out with a Cause
Dylan does the retirement planning for a local charity called Santa Fe Youth. Its a great organization and we attend their charity dinner every year to support the cause. It's a good time.
They give out community awards to deserving people. Awards were given to a local football coach, a Dr. who is an ex gang member and also over came the challenges of teen pregnancy, and Jim Jeffcoat, a ex-NFL player who coached the Cowboys after retiring and now coaches at San Diego State. It's really cool to hear about the paths people take in life and how you really can over come anything no matter how big or small. I always leave the event wanting to adopt some under privileged kid or at the very least, get more involved in the community. It's also a good reminder to be so very thankful for the life my parents provided me and the support I always felt from them growing up. Sad to think there are so many kids out there that don't have that.

Swimming with Grandma! That woman is like Super Man. She does it all. I didn't get in, just watched from the sidelines. It's been so nice living with my mom. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when we move out!
Our little angel. She is wearing a nightgown my mom had made us when we were kids then Mom went and got out her angel wings and halo. I could only wish that she was this perfect all the time. ;o)

We had a great day...It was a super way...to spend sometime together...
May 6th
Liz called me a week ago and asked if I wanted to go see The Fresh Beat Band. Now, by the level of my excitement, you would think this was a concert for me, but it wasn't. This is Tatum's favorite TV show.
Apparently Liz and Joey know how to do it. They found suite tickets which made life so much easier when the little ones wanted to run around. We also had VIP parking passes so we had to walk about 5 feet. The things we do for our kids!
We even met for lunch before the concert. It was such a fun day for the kids (and adults!) Tatum had an absolute blast and I had a blast watching how much fun she was having while singing and dancing to her favorite songs.

Group shot of the kiddos! Even Druz was excited!
Liz entertaining the kids. Tatum loves Liz.
THE FRESH BEATS!!!
Druz and Daddy watching the show!
My girl having the time of her life!
Summer has officially begun!
May 5th
The pool is OPEN! It was a little chilly at first but once you got in it felt great! I may regret letting the kids swim this early because I'm sure they will want to go every day from now on but we had a great time swimming and I'm so glad we will be here to use the pool all summer long...or however long we are here!

He loved the water...Didn't care for this float but loved being in the water even with it being cold!
Daddy and Druzy playing together
Druz was so funny. He would get in on the first step of the pool then get out and run to the door then come back to the pool. He did this about a hundred times and would just laugh and giggle. I'm sure this is what wore him out. HE took a 4 hour nap! I'm usually lucky to get an hour out of this kid at nap time. At least now I know what to do when I need to wear him out this summer!
The three amigos
Druz likes pushing this garden cart all over the yard.
Even I got in the pool.
