Change is inevitable, I know this. But it doesn't make it any easier.
Dylan and I have decided to build a house in the 'burbs.
We LOVE living in Fort Worth. There is so much here to do and see and we like seeing ourselves as city people. BUT...kids make you think differently about things and sometimes you have to make grown up decisions.
We both loved growing up in a neighborhood where your friends lived on the same street and you went to school with your neighbors, you can't really do that here.
In Fort Worth we could possibly get away with sending the kids to public school in elementary but middle school and high school would most definitely have to be private. At first, I was ADAMANT that I would never send my kids to private school but I began to warm up to the idea the longer we lived here.
Then came the challenge of finding a house that fit our needs and that we could afford. We have decided (at this point) to produce an army so there were very few houses we felt would accommodate us for the long haul.
In the end, we decided it was in the best interest of the kiddos to pack 'em up and move north. We will be a little closer to my mom as well as some friends so it will be fun, just different.
The best part is that we are building a house, at least that is the current plan. I'm sure what I have built in my head is a mansion that we can't afford but Dylan told me to put in and design anything I wanted and then we would start knocking things out as we go through and work with the builder. I liked the first part of that idea. Although I know my dream house I have imagined isn't realistic, it's still fun to dream, right?!?!?!?!
So...on to bigger and better and NEW things for The Harig's.

Morning Playtime
You will probably get bored with all my pictures from now until we move. I feel like I need to capture as many moments in the house as I can. I know I'm a little late but better late than never, right?
The kids playing this morning.

Playing Peek-A-Boo...I hope.
My girl
Music Table, never gets old
Playing with Noah's Arc...
With that smile, I'm sure she was asking for something at the moment.

Spring Break
Playing at the park with our friends to start off our spring break!
All the kids had a blast!
All the kids had a blast!
The little boys swinging together
Druz squinting his eyes swinging. I'm pretty sure I have a picture exactly like this of Tatum. Love that little face!
Tatum and Myla driving the train
They both look they are plotting something evil
Pure joy...love these two munchkins to the moon and back!
I had to post a picture so you know he really WAS having fun
The train was a hot spot at the park
Such a cute picture of the little ones.
Attempting a picture of everyone. This was the best we could do!
It's Official
We have successfully jumped our last hurdle with the house...the appraisal came back today. We can finally start packing up with no more worries!
Now I have a week and a half to get the house packed up. This week is Spring Break so there is no "school" for the kids. Packing up while two little ones running around will be interesting! But I'm a mom so I can do anything. ;o)
To celebrate we took a walk to DQ for a blizzard...thats my kind of celebration!
On a sad note, Dylan mowed the grass for the last time today. When he was finished he sat outside just starring and admiring his job well done. Bittersweet.

Sunday Funday
Tatum went to another Omni Max movie with her Daddy. Again, one of the things we will miss. Dylan said she is a little scared at first because the screen is so big and in your face but then she gets used to it and LOVES it. It's all she talks about the rest of the day.

NY Fashion Week
I know, I know. Who would have thought? Me, a NY Fashion Week Model...well...Your right. Maybe it was just a Junior League fashion show but I felt like it was NY Fashion Week. ;o)
The fashion show coordinators asked me to be in the show and I hesitantly agreed, having no idea what I was really getting into. Between trying on the clothes that they picked out from boutiques around the area, to having run thrus, and having our hair and makeup done. I sure felt like we were about to do a show for the masses!
Clearly, something I would normally never do but it was a refreshing experience from my normal daily grind of stay-at-home mommy-ness. It was a lot of fun too!
Afterwards, we all went out for a drink to celebrate. I'm definitely not model material, I'm paying for the celebration part today!
This was my first outfit...I didn't get any pics of my second look. The funniest part about this...my realtor took this picture! I didn't even know she was there and I got a text with this picture saying, "You rocked it!" Good salesman that lady is! ;o)
A little pre-show mingling with my friend, Cara.

Pulled a hammy!
YIKES!
Dylan has started playing flag football again. He played on the same team a few years ago and they took a little hiatus due to team injuries.
I can see why. Today was their first practice of the season and Dylan pulled his hammy. That's not even the worst part... Tyler was with him so THAT was the worst part.
He should be healed up in time for his first game in a couple weeks, he hopes.

Food Truck Park
What a great concept!
I love it!
Fort Worth opened a Food Truck Park a couple months ago and we have been wanting to check it out. We finally did last night. There are 6 trucks there on any given night and they are always changing. Apparently, it's a new trend and I'm liking it. I didn't get any pictures but I'm sure it will be a favorite of ours for quite a while. Its a great place for the kids to run around outside while we eat and we have 6 different places to choose from!

Elmo Makes Music
Tatum and I had a Mommy/Daughter date.
Alison and Aslynn went with us so that made it even better.
I dropped Druz at Mom's and we headed to the show.
We were about 5 rows back so I think she was a little frightened at first. She wanted to sit on my lap pretty much the whole show. She looked completely in awe of what was going on and didn't say a word. I kept asking her if she was having fun and she kept saying yes. She finally got the nerve to stand up and dance and sing to the last two songs. She was a little sad when it was time to go but thankfully there were no tantrums so I would say this was a VERY successful outing.
It was so nice to spend some one on one time with Tatum. Love her to pieces.

On our way to the show!
Snack Time! Whoever decided that intermission was a good idea during a kids show was CRAZY or never had kids. Thankfully, Alison came prepared with lots of snacks to keep the girls entertained!

This week has been crazy. In addition to our normal activities, I have had a million different people to the house to give me estimates on things the buyers want fixed. Electricians, AC guy, Plumber, 3 different roofers, and an adjuster, etc. Getting everyone to come out and give me what I need is hard work. Reminds me of when I was on a deadline at work. Everyone works at their own pace but I HAD to have it done at MY pace this week and I made it happen for the most part.
We had to request an extension for the option period because we couldn't get the adjuster out in time (SLOWEST. PEOPLE. EVER!) But the buyers seemed to be ok with it all.
I do work best under pressure so it was kind of refreshing and stressful all at the same time.
I can't complain, I still got a couple works outs in as well as volunteering at the food bank.
If these were my worries for the week...life is GOOD!
