Glucose Test Results

I called the doctor this morning since I didn't hear anything friday.  I was hoping no news was good news but couldn't stop thinking about it.

Looks like I was right, my results came back normal so no gestational diabetes for me.  YAY!!!  One less thing to worry about as I grow my little son!  What a relief.

Fun and Full Weekend

Saturday we had a brunch with some other couples from church.  Tatum decided to try and take a toy away from one of the other kids and he popped her in the face with it (it was a plastic hammer).  Hopefully she learned her lesson.

Saturday afternoon we went and looked at some houses and land.  Nothing serious, just seeing what our options are if/when we decide to move to something a little bigger.

Sunday we went to church.  Our pastor is stepping down after 27 years and he passed the "baton" to the new pastor, who we know personally since joining the church 3 years ago.  Pretty exciting service.  The message was about Finishing Well.  It was very meaningful and heartfelt.  We really enjoyed it.

After church we had a birthday party for one of Tatum's friends, Aslynn.  She turned 2!  They had all kinds of fun stuff to do and Tatum had a blast.

Then we had our Sunday dinner at Mom's with Vicki and the boys.  Its always nice to end the weekend/start the week with some good old fashion family time.  Puts life into perspective.

The pictures didn't turn out the best...

I found out this week one of my cousins has stage 4 cancer in his liver and lymph nodes.  There is nothing the doctors can do at this point.  He is to start chemo Monday so please say a little prayer for him and his family as they journey through this difficult time.  He is only a couple years older than me, way too young to be faced with this.  Not that there is an age limit.  I'm sure God has his plan, although sometimes it's VERY difficult to see that.

More Doctor's Visits

I got a call from the doctor earlier this week saying that I failed my Glucose Test...Boo!  I had to go in for a follow up today so they could take more blood.  I couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight last night.  I went in at 8:30 and had my blood taken, then had to drink this disgusting drink and then had my blood taken again at 9:45, 10:45 and 11:45.  Long day at the doctor but I brought a good book and ran a few small errands in between them draining me.

I will get the results tomorrow.  Let's hope the results are better than the first test, because I really don't want to deal with gestational diabetes for the remainder of my pregnancy!

Bump

Here's my little bump at 27 weeks.  It looks smaller than it really is but this is the first and only picture I have of my belly so this will have to do for now.

Look Familiar???

We were looking through some old pictures last weekend and came across this.  Not only does Tatum look just like her dad but her body is identical too!

Playing Dress Up

I figured out why Tatum loves Grandma so much. I don't let her stand on the tables but obviously Grandma has different rules.

Smelling the flowers

Mom asked if there was anything in particular that I wanted Tatum to wear.  I told her anything was fine.  This is what she came out of her room in.  It was her Christmas dress that she never got to wear because we didn't go to church. ;o(  This started our "dress up" morning.

Tatum LOVES her Daddy!

Daddy was in his office working.  She was knocking on the door, wanting to show him her outfit.  How can you NOT open the door to that?!?!?!

Perfect Zoo Day

Tatum and I took Playa to the vet today, third time in three weeks.  Her eye has an abrasion on it so its pretty painful and we are hoping it gets better soon.  Yorkie's are notorious for bad eyes.  Dylan wanted to just put her down after the bill for the first appointment.  He thinks it will just be cheaper.  While I agree with that part, Tatum would be too upset so we decided to keep Playa around for a little longer.

After the vet we pulled in the driveway and I decided it was just too perfect of a day not to get out so I took Playa inside, grabbed a few snacks and off we went to the zoo.  We got there about 5 minutes before they opened so it was perfect timing, no crowds and not too hot.

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL the last week.  After our snow days, I guess Mother Nature decided we needed to be rewarded.  Its been sunny and in the high 60's and 70's.  We have spent lots of time outside.

She really enjoyed watching the monkeys.  They were very active, chasing each other around.

Weekend Fun

Tyler was over for the weekend.  Tatum just can't get enough of Tyler or Tross.  And they are SO good with her.  I remember thinking I was "too cool" to baby talk Tyler and I was the same age he is now.  While he was here, he was willing to change her diaper and then read her books before her nap.  Just warms my heart. ;o)

Daddy and Tatum going for a drive...to nowhere. She HAD to get in the car and her Dad has a hard time saying no to pretty much anything.

 "Get outta my way!!!"
I LOVE this picture.  She was looking at Dylan and Tyler playing basketball in the rearview mirror.  She had a hard time figuring out how they could be behind her when they CLEARLY were right in front of her.

My girl LOVES the slide!

Cirque Du Soleil

Dylan and I went to see a Cirque show last night, OVO. It was AWESOME!!! Wish we were able to take pics. This was our Valentine's Date to eachother. We had a GREAT time!

Baby Update

Had another doctor appointment today.  We had a sonogram to check on the placenta previa.  Looks like it corrected itself so that is GREAT news.  Its still pretty close but the doctor thinks I should be able to have a normal delivery.

Druz was hiding from us so these were the best pics we could get.  I'll take anything.  I'm getting more and more excited to meet him.  We (My mom and I) have making plans for the nursery.  I think once Dylan is out in April, it will REALLY sink in that I'm about to have another baby!!!

It's hard to tell but this is his face straight on and a hand up by his face. The best pic we had was of his boy parts, but I figured I would spare the kid some embarrassment before he is even born. The doctor sad nothing fell off, so that's good news.

Tatum will kiss my belly when I tell her that her brother Druz is inside.  She thinks it funny.  I think its cute.  I hope she still does the same thing once he arrives...to him, not my belly. ;o)

ESPN SportsCenter

There are a million different events going on around the metroplex for the Super Bowl.  The game is 20 minutes from the house.  The Steelers are staying 5 minutes away and Fort Worth has been named"Steeler Country."  We decided to get out and see what it's all about.

ESPN SportsCenter has been filming from Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth and we got to check it out.  It was PACKED!  People would start screaming every time the camera zoomed into the crowd and it terrified Tatum.  She eventually calmed down.  It was fun to enjoy something Super Bowl related since I'm too fat and pregnant to attend any other parties. ;o(

Boy how life changes!

Snow Day x4

Dylan got back from California yesterday...Thank God!  I had my doubts that his flight would even make it.

School has been closed since Tuesday and I think the majority of the DFW area has cabin fever. Today it snowed twice the yearly average. We decided enough was enough so we layered Tatum with as much clothes as we could put on her and headed out to play.

View of the street.

Before we went out to play.

Dylan and the dogs running around in the street.

Enjoying the cold wet snow.

Tatum would walk a few steps then plop down and starting eating the snow.

Playa decided to warm up in front of the heater.
I was trying to dry Tatum's boots.

SNOW DAY!

Anyone up north would laugh at our snow days but for Texas, its pretty bad.  It was pouring rain last night and then dropped to below freezing.  I woke up to snow covering the ground and apparently under that is layer on layer of ice.  All schools in the whole DFW area are closed.

For those living under a rock, the Super Bowl is here this weekend.  Both teams arrived yesterday and today is Media Day.  While they made it to their events, everything else was canceled.  All the charity events were canceled and even the airport shut down for a few hours this morning.  I'm sure the Super Bowl organizers aren't very happy right now, but what can you do.  The temp isn't supposed to get above freezing until friday afternoon (high of 35, if we are lucky!) so the ice and snow is expected to stick around for at least three more days.  I'm sure most people figured they would come to Texas for the Super Bowl and get to enjoy some nice weather, seeing that is was 65/70 this last weekend but this is Texas weather for you!
