Safari Park

Other than Brody taking a little fall and biting through his lip, everyone had a good time...even if it was cut a little short.  I'd go back again, especially during the winter when it's too cold for this Texan to go outside!
Joey and Tatum on the train

Brody, Druz, and a lot of balls!
There were a TON of germ ball pits.  Druz could have played in them all day!

Not sure how/why I was the ONLY adult on the train.

They had these mechanical animals that you could ride on.  Tatum loved it!

We ended our day with lunch at Sonic.  Tatum has discovered Cherry Limeades and LOVES them!

Whirlwind Weekend

I hopped on a plane late Friday night and headed to Ohio for my Grandmother's 90th birthday.

It just so happens that both of my Grandma's have birthdays two days apart so I was able to celebrate with both of them.

Me and Dad...Not only did I get to see the Grandma's but I got to see my Dad for a couple days too!

I wanted a coffee mug from the restaurant.  I thought long and hard about stuffing one in my purse but it was too small and I didn't want my 90 year old Grandmother being arrested for something so silly by secretly putting it in her purse, although the thought did cross my mind.  Luckily, I have a very persuasive cousin, who politely asked the waitress for a mug for her "Texas Cousin".  And the best part...She gave me a brand new one, even after I told her I would take a used one.  I can now think of sweet little Navarre, Ohio every morning while drinking my coffee.  No better way to start my day.

90 years!!!  AMAZING!

Friends and family came to celebrate

She is loved by so many!

I was so glad I was able to make it to celebrate with both Grandmas!  I was sad that the rest of the family wasn't able to make it up but they were there in spirit!

I was back home by 9am Sunday morning.  I got 9 hours of sleep in 3 days and don't regret it one bit.  I loved spending time with the Grandma's no matter how short it may have been!

Now to catch up on some sleep!

Happy Birthday Grandmas!
I love you both so very very much!

Zoo Day!

We took the kids to the zoo this morning.  Tatum had been asking just about everyday so I promised her I would take her today.  The first thing she said when she woke up this morning was, "Mommy, can we go to the zoo today?"

There was a new baby Rhino!  I didn't even know the Mommy Rhino was pregnant.  The kids loved seeing the baby.

Checking out the Kangaroos

Best group shot we could get ;o)
Druz was not very happy.

Jumperoo

Wednesday mornings Urban Air (a trampoline park) has preschool aged kids come and jump.  It's cheap and a perfect way to get energy out!  Even I got in on the fun.

The kids had an absolute blast!  We will definitely be going again. Thanks Liz for inviting us to come along with you guys!

Foam pit...

Dodgeball anyone?

 ALMOST off the ground

He definitely worked up an appetite, although I'm not sure how much actually made it into his mouth!

Go Broncos!

Vitross had a football game today. I rallied the troops (my kids) and we headed over to the ball field to watch the Broncos beat the Wolves.

Let me just tell you first of all...Vitross was AWESOME!  He sacked the quarter back about 80% of the plays.  He did great and was very excited during and after the game, as he should have been.  I can't wait for the next game.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures because my kids were all over the place but you will just have to imagine him tackling the poor QB and playing great!

Tross goes to the middle school I went to.  As I'm watching the game, I notice two guys I went to high school with are coaching the other team.  Then I see my neighbors daughter, my neighbor, the gym instructor (who my friends and I kind of stalk at the gym), and her daughter.  I'm an avoider.  Dylan keeps telling me that since we moved back here I will have to start facing these instances and just say hi. After the game I realized he is right!  I see someone I know just about every day.

As my friend put it...WELCOME HOME!

My sweet friend Andrea had a beautiful baby girl in July and a few of us decided to have a Sip 'N See to celebrate and so everyone can meet the precious little girl.

 Me, Monica, Andrea, and Liz

Liz and I had to skip our softball game because it was the same time as the shower.  We were very anxious to know how it was going since we were undefeated.  We won so we are 3-0!  YAY!!!

As you can tell, we are really enjoying playing softball with our friends.  Gives us something adult to look forward to and we get to bring the kids and watch them run around and play.  We all enjoy the time, and honestly, how often does that happen???
This was pretty much the first weekend that we actually got stuff done at the house.  It's starting to look like there are people living here.  But...how can you get stuff done with these little munchkins running around???

Helping Daddy organize the garage.
I bet this kid will play a mean game of flash light tag when he gets older.

We had a perfect little Saturday.  Walked to the coffee shop so Mommy and Daddy could fuel up for the day, then to the park we went.

Alison got tickets to a band named Twin Shadows.  Her friend is kind of dating the lead singer.  We decided after we pulled Mommy Duty with the kiddos at Grapefest, it was time for some grown up fun.  We definitely had fun and I can't even remember the last time I was out that late.

Alison, Tiffany, and I had dinner at Bolsa then grabbed a drink at Cedar Social before heading to Trees for the show.

Just a few girls trying to do some reading before the show

Just a bunch of blonde Mom's trying to fit in with the young folk

No idea who that guy is.

Grapefest is here!

After school we (Liz, Alison, and I) decided to take the kids to Grapevine for some fun. Grapefest is a festival they have downtown Grapevine a couple times a year with rides, vendors selling all kinds of stuff, petting zoos, etc.  Its always free to get in the first day it but the amount of money you spend on the tickets to ride rides and eat is ridiculous!  Thank God we didn't stay long!

Aslynn, Tatum, and Joey

Aslynn on "Pupster" and Tatum on "Trilla"
Alison asked what each of their horse and dogs names were and the girls came up with them on their own.  Trilla?  Sounds like a bad rapper.  The imagination of a 3 year old.

Just about the only thing that was "free" in the festival.

All the kids got their face painted.

THIS IS MY 1000th BLOG!!!

Tatum asks to go to the park every time we drive by it and since that is a couple times a day.  I figured it was getting a little ridiculous that somehow we were too busy for the park.

We packed some lunches and headed to the park for a picnic and playtime.

There are picnic tables but Tatum wanted to eat on the ground and was NOT happy when she realized I didn't being a blanket to eat on.  My fault for assuming we would eat on a TABLE!

My little climber...he is almost big enough to do it all on his own...he just needs to get the nerve now.

My little helper...always looking out for her little brother.  Makes my heart skip a beat.

Dylan had a meeting in Florida today so he left yesterday and came back tonight.  He got to play some golf while he was there at the PGA National course (I think that's what it was called).  He was pretty excited.

On another note.  Im used to waking up with Dylan...since he was gone, I got to wake up to this...

Either way, I'd say I'm a lucky girl.

Sunday Fun Day has continued.

With Tatum turning 3, I decided to use a gift certificate I had for a photo session.  We did family pictures as well as some fun pictures for my birthday girl.  Dylan was actually pleasant for these, usually its an all out fight so he is either learning to just go with it or he is saving it for something bigger.  Not sure which. Not sure I want to know.  ;o)

I took this with my phone so I can only imagine how cute the photographers pictures will be!!!  CAN NOT WAIT TO GET THEM BACK!

We had another softball game today.  We won.  Woot!  Woot!
We decided to celebrate at Esparzas.  Would you expect anything less?

Now that TCU is in the BIG 12, we decided to get season tickets.  It will be nice to see both of our colleges play so close to home.

The first home game was this weekend against Grambling State.  The game itself was a complete blow out...something like 54-0.  It was so bad, I don't even know the final score BUT the best entertainment was definitely the Grambling Band, which is what they are known for anyways.  They had some serious moves out there on the field.

I was glad I didn't bring the kids because I would have had to cover their eyes!

Before the game or any other things we had to do...it was time to play at the park.  I would say she was one happy girl.
