The Final Celebration

With Mom turning 60 this week we made plans to have a fun night out!

So, last night we called all the ladies and headed out on the town.

Me, Trish, Lucy, Mom, Becky, Vicki, and Jessica
The limo arrived at 6, which was a surprise.  We had dinner reservations at Mi Dia.

The food was GREAT!  This was Mom's dinner, Sea Bass Tacos.

All the girls enjoying their Ritas!

Mom's friend Becky had a cake made for our big celebration.  It looked and tasted GREAT!

Back in the limo and heading to Glass Cactus for some late night fun with Le Freak performing!

Pictures and Parties!

Dylan said all he wanted to do was spend time with the kids over the weekend.  I information him late Friday night that we had a whole day of fun planned. (*sarcasm).

Dylan LOVES HATES family pictures.  He always appreciates the outcome but the actual session is a form of torture for him.  I called my sweet friend Andrea, who just started her own photography business, to see if she could squeeze us in.  I felt like I dropped the ball on Druz birthday because I didn't do pictures or a party and Tatum had both...and then some...when she turned one.  The kids grow up so fast and change so quickly that I cherish these pictures but it is definitely an hour of pure stress while its happening!

Tatum's new pose

After our pictures we were headed to a birthday party.  This party had a bounce house that had water running through it so it was like a slip n slide bounce house.  There were older boys and girls that were playing hard, jumping around and sliding everywhere.  I figured Tatum may not last long but she held her own and didn't want to come out for anything!

FLYING down the bounce house slide!

They had a smaller one for the little kids too so Druz got to have some fun too!

CAKE!  This was the only way we could get the kids out of the bounce house!

Fun with Friends!

In celebration of Alison's birthday we were all heading to the lake to SUP, eat, hang out, and watch fireworks.  My mom had a hair appointment so I had to hire a sitter (a BIG deal for me!)  Thankfully she came VERY highly recommended.  She was only staying until my mom got home so that made it not so bad.

Back to the birthday festivities...

In short, we had fun!

Grapevine Lake has fireworks every Friday so we hung out until after the fireworks and then headed home.  We SUP'd up until we saw a water moccasin.  It was dark out and I had no interest in accidentally falling in the lake with that slimy little thing!

Alison, Me, and Kirsten...Glory Days cheerleading pyramid...ironic, because none of us were ever cheerleaders!

About to head out on the SUPs.  I was leaning so Alison would be in the picture, it looks like a wierd pose though.

Alison's Birthday is today.  She forced us to take a picture after our 8:30 AM spin class.  Not the best time for pictures but she said it was her birthday party so we had no choice.

Play Date

After swim lessons we headed over to Alison's to hang out and show off the kids newly found swim skills.  Always a good time with tons of kids and Mom's trying to wrangle them.  Sometimes it takes a Village, right?

Aslynn and Tatum hanging out in the Jeep

Aslynn taking Druz for a ride.  I knew he was going to go for the older women!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my Dad, Ron, and Dylan!!!

Dylan loves Mexican breakfast so we headed out early and ate at Los Amigos in Grapevine.

Tatum couldn't be left out of the picture taking.

After breakfast we headed over to the DFW Observation Area, just outside the airport.  For being so afraid of planes and flying, Dylan is a little infatuated with them.  It was cool to see all the planes taking off and landing and they also have speakers so we get to hear the control towers talking to the planes, which is pretty cool.

Tatum flying with the other statues at the Observation Area

We spent some time at Parr Park.  The kids love playing there and Druz is finally getting big enough to climb up on his own.

She has turned into our little climber!

Dylan and the kids swam while Mom prepared dinner.

What a Great Day!  (Cued to the music of The Fresh Beat Band)

I still live for the weekends.  Even though I'm home with my kids all week long, I still look forward to hanging out with Dylan and the kids as one big happy family...well, we may not be happy the WHOLE weekend, but with little ones we do the best we can!

Heading out for a walk with the dogs

All black Jordan everything...

The first weekend in over a month that we are home!  Sea World, Austin, Vegas, NY...I loved hanging out in different places with friends and family but it sure does feel good to be home!

Playing in the sprinklers

Showing off more of her swimming skills

And some more... I'm a proud Momma!

We had dinner at our usual spot...Uncle Julio's

Tross came along.  He is such a big help with the kids and Tatum LOVES hanging out with him.

Tatum's first Rainbow.  She thought it was so cool.  It was the first time she is old enough to know what it is.  She was pretty mesmerized by it.

Swim Lessons

Back to reality!  Tatum has swim lessons Monday-Thursday for the next two weeks and gymnastics on Fridays.  Never a dull moment.  My kids are still itty bitty and I already feel like a chauffeur!

Tatum started swim lessons on Monday.  We made the mistake of letting her use swimmies after her swim lessons last year so she had no interest in learning how to do it on her own.  I'm so proud of her!  After Day 1 she was swimming on her own and this video is from Day 2!

The Concrete Jungle

I booked a girls trip before our Vegas trip and they just happened to fall in the same week.  At the time, I didn't think much of it but when it came time to leave again after being away for 5 days already, I was feeling some serious Mommy guilt.

We got back from Vegas around 11pm Tuesday night.  Wednesday I had to do all the laundry, pack for NY, go view a house, and then drive to Oklahoma to pick up the kids.   My mom thankfully went with me so that made it easier.  We got home around 7pm.  Druz was tired so I put him to bed but I let Tatum stay up late so I could spend a little time with her before catching a 6am flight.  I felt even worse knowing I would be gone before she even woke up!

Once again, I am so thankful and lucky to have grandparents to step in when needed.  My Mom kept the kids Thursday and Friday while Dylan was at work.  Again, it's so nice to know they are in good hands and well taken care of while we/I am off with our friends! Thanks MOM!

Thursday morning at 4:30am when my alarm went off came all too fast!

We all had ourselves some Starbucks before boarding since our flight was at 6am!  Little did I know I've been spelling my name wrong my entire life!

After arriving in NY we cabbed it over to Jessica and Javier's apt in Greenwich Village.  I had 2 requests while in NY.  Run in Central Park and go see the Today Show.  Since we were sure what our weekend had in store for us, we decided to head to Central Park for a run in case we couldn't get up early to do it another day.  I loved it!  After that we hung out, walked around and then got ready for the night.  Our first stop (pictured above) was an art gallery.  We met the artist and got some free wine.  Not bad.

Our hosts...Jessica (Jeb), Javier, and Gab
Thursday was Javier's birthday, so after they were done with work they all met us out for a drink.

Me and Alison
First night out on the town.

In the morning, we decided to head to the Today show.  Chris Brown was performing so I thought it would be mass chaos.  Well, good thing the three of us (a.k.a Sisterwives) are slow because we arrived around 9:30, the show is over at 10.  Chris Brown was long gone and so was the crowds.  We got to see some action going on and we even made it on TV but when I got home to watch it, the President decided to interrupt right when we would have been on, real nice!!!  I didn't get my 5 seconds of fame after all!

At The Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Plaza)
We took a ride to the top after seeing the Today Show.  I've been to the top of other buildings but never "The Rock" so that was cool.  This was my 5th time to NYC and there is still SO much more to see!

View from Top of the Rock...Central Park.  I think that's my favorite park about NY.

After The Rock, we did some shopping.  My card was declined due to possible fraud.  The credit card company called, emailed, and text Dylan to see if it was fraud.  He said yes, but it was his wife so to turn it back on.  OOPS!  What did he think I was going to do in NY?!?!?!?  Gotta love that guy!

We stopped at Magnolia Bakery on our way back to the apartment.  We had to get some birthday goodies for after our big dinner for Javier.  They are known for starting the cupcake craze.  The bakery has also been in a lot of movies, like The Devil Wears Prada, Sex in the City, Lazy, and Saturday Night Live to name a few.

Before heading out for dinner, we met up with a friend of Alison's, Teniel.  We had a drink and stumbled upon MTV getting some footage for a new show that is about to start...what show you ask???  Don't know.  The camera guy was a jerk and wouldn't tell us.  He wasn't a jerk for not telling us...He was a jerk first, then wouldn't tell us. ;o)

Killing time before dinner.  Alison and I decided to make our own music for all the patrons.

Betsy, Gab, Me, and Alison
We went to high school with Betsy, and I haven't seen her since then.  It was nice catching up and hanging out for a bit.
This was Javier's big birthday dinner.  There were 12 of us that ate together.  Dinner at De Santos was so good!  We each (Sisterwives) ordered different stuff and ate off of each other.  I had steak, coconut shrimp, tuna tar tar (I don't eat seafood!)  and everything was so delicious!!!

They had an old telephone by the bathrooms.  I just couldn't resist while waiting in line.

PHOTO BOMB!
Such a cute pic of the sisters...we always have to ruin everything.
After the birthday dinner we went to Whitehall.  I little bar under their apartment.

Dylan sent me some pictures so I could see what my babies were doing while I was gone.

This little chunky guy looks like he gained 50 lbs and turned into a cocky Italian while I was gone.

Saturday we didn't have much planned so we hung out in Central Park for a while.

Another pic from Dylan.  This was my good night, see you in the morning picture.  Love these two!

Our flight was scheduled for 8am Sunday morning and we had a connection in Nashville. Luckily, they were able to get us on an earlier direct flight so once again we were up at 4:30am getting ready to catch another flight.

I had a GREAT time in NY with my girls, but I was definitely ready to get home to Dylan and the kids.  I missed them to pieces!!!

This is pretty much how I spent my Sunday.  In bed, watching movies with my favorite people in the whole world!
