Dallas Arboretum

The kids and I headed out to the Dallas Arboretum today to play with Andrea and Jake.  I don't get to see Andrea near enough since we live on the opposite sides of the metroplex.  We had a great time and hopefully will get to do it again soon!

Andrea snapped a few pictures for me.  I had my camera but Andrea is the pro and I had my hands full so I don't think it even came out of the bag.

Not the best picture of the kids but I wanted to post SOMETHING of Druz

Tatum posing...She wasn't really but it sure looks like it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture!

4 month stats

At the Dr.

We still have a short fat small headed boy on our hands.  His height and head at in the 25th percentile and his weight is in the 75th.

Height: 25in.
Weight: 17 lbs.
Head: 42 cm. (16.5 in)

He gets very excited now when he sees a bottle.
He is a VERY active little boy.  Rolls all over the place.
He reaches for everything...he is constantly observing.
Getting better with the pacifier.
I love love love his little laugh.  I could listen to it all day.

Training begins!

I started my race training today.  I'm running a marathon...ok, so its a marathon RELAY, but saying I'm running a marathon sounds so much better.  My leg is only 4.5 miles, but it will be longest I have run.  I'm also going to do a 10k in February so I figured now was a good time to start.

I'm still not a HUGE fan of running but its been REALLY hard to get the weight off this time around and running will hopefully kick start it.  Its easier for me to run than to change my eating habits, although I know that will have to come next.

Today was just a 15 minute run/walk but I managed to run the whole thing, and I was pushing the BOB. Yay for me!

Druz had his 4 month check up today so I left Tatum at Mom's.  We went to the park afterwards so I could run and Mom watched Tatum play.

She loves climbing on everything

and swinging on anything...

My little running buddy.

Kiss and Emily

Yesterday after the zoo, we went to Chris and Emily's for some burgers and the game.  Tatum LOVES "Kiss", Emily, and especially Winston.

She gets fries, twizzlers, cheese sticks, and just about anything else she wants there.  It's like going to the fair for her!

Play Day

The kids and I spent some time outside enjoying the beautiful weather while Daddy went to work...I hate when he has to work on Saturdays, although I'm sure he hates it more.  Luckily he was only gone for a few hours and joined in on the fun when he came home.

I love this little face!

This girl is serious about her sidewalk chalk

She could play all day outside...even in her PJ's

Couldn't resist posting this one!

My little happy smiley guy

She, of course, had to get in Druz saucer...whatever makes them happy!

After Daddy got home we went to the zoo!

She wants to wear her rain boots EVERYWHERE!

Sorry for the baboon butt picture but his rear was so colorful...must have been a mating thing.

Tatum has a love hate relationship with the gorilla's.  She wants to go see them SOOO bad but then is terrified once she gets close.

Checking out "Timon"...meerkat mound.

Tatum had fun and Druz is always a champ when it comes to being on the go.  As long as my kids are happy, Dylan and I are happy too!  It was a great day with the family at the zoo.  I live for these days!

Reality

I found this on Pinterest...I didn't "pin" it because then my husband wouldn't see it.

And if I'm being honest.  Two is even a stretch (at least that's what I'm going to tell him!)

Catch up!

Just playing catch up since I am a few days behind!

Thursday we had a showing so the kids and I loaded up and  Emily and Dylan met us at Central Market for some food and live music.  It's perfect because there is a playground so Tatum plays while the grown-ups get to eat, chat, and listen to the band.

Mom watched the kids while I had a MUCH needed hair appointment.  I didn't really have this in mind when I went in but I guess I decided I needed a big change while sitting in that chair!  Definitely not the best picture but I glanced over at Tatum at the last minute and this is what Dylan got.

Later that night we went to a "Glory Days" party at Alison's.  Grapevine HS played Colleyville-Heritage HS so we "tailgated" at Alison's.  Needless to say the party was just as fun as our high scholl gatherings...minus the adult beverages.

Saturday my big boy turned 4 months old.  He is so expressive, more than Tatum and she was pretty expressive.  He doesn't "talk" as much as Tatum did, which if that has any relevance to how much he will talk later, I am ok with that!  Tatum talks enough for everyone in the house!  He isn't a big fan of laying down and although he can't sit up yet he really tries and wants to be up right watching whats going on at all times.  He still isn't sleeping consistently but we are making progress.  He has slept 8-9 hours a few nights so I'm taking that as a sign of good things to come!  We aren't on a normal day time nap schedule, which might be the reason for the inconsistent night sleep but with two its hard to have a normal schedule since we are on the go a lot.  I guess the up side is that he is learning how to adapt early in life, right?

This Lunch Rox!

So I came across this website...someone on FB mentioned it so I checked it out.

I'm always struggling with what to pack for Tatum's lunch.  She gets the same thing everyday...ravioli, cheese stick, blueberries/grapes/orange (some kind of fruit), a veggie packet, and a juice box.

I would normally just give her PBJ's everyday but because of peanut allergies the school is a NO PB zone.

If you have the same problem, you should check out this site... thislunchrox.com.  What a GREAT resource!

Cake in a Jar

Pinned this on Pinterest and gave it a try.  It was fun and I think it turned out pretty good for my first time!

My colored cake mix

Cake mix ready to go in the oven...in a deep dish pan with 1/4" of water.

Scooped out yumminess...

A little icing to top it off...I added sprinkles too

The finished masterpiece...if I was actually using this for something I would put pretty ribbons and a spoon on it.

Good Times

Tross hung out with us for the weekend.

Tatum loved it.

We had fun.

Too bad Barbie wasn't a brunette with dark eyes...she would have some serious competition.

Tross was showing us his skateboarding skills.  This kid is like the next Tony Hawk.  He jumped the bricks you see at the bottom of the picture and landed it with ease. I was mad when my camera didn't click fast enough to get the jump but love that instead I got Tatum's excitement and Dylan's "way to go" high five!

Daddy had music playing in the garage and our little dancing queen just can't resist, doing what she does best!

My beautiful baby girl

Tross helping Tatum shoot some hoops.

Not sure what it is about this pic that I love so much, but I love it.

Chest pass to Daddy...she makes him so proud.  ;o)

Riding Tross' skateboard...I was quite impressed by her keeping her balance on the way down the driveway from Daddy to Tross.

9/11

How could we ever forget?

All those beautiful lives lost.

But never forgotten.

Say a little prayer for all those touch by the tragic events ten years ago today.

Druz asked if he could wear this today.  He said he needs to catch upon brownie points with Papa since Tatum is WAY ahead.

I think it probably worked.

Adult Time

After our fun day at the Aquarium (it really was fun, even with all the craziness of 9 kids) it was time for some much needed adult time.

I met the girls for drinks at 5 then our hubby's came later for dinner.  It was so nice to relax at the end of a LONG week!!!

Fish and Friends

We went to the Aquarium again but with some friends this time.  There were 5 adults, 9 kids, and 4 strollers.  3 potty breaks, numerous crying fits (from the little babies), and lots of fish later, we all had a good time!

These are from my phone so they aren't the best, but its all I had.

Aslynn and Tatum

Tiffany, Lincoln, Christian, Aslynn, and Tatum

Liz and Brody (who is only 6 1/2 months!)

Snack Time!

Tiffany was our herder...She would help out with the kiddos when things got out of control.  She has two twin boys ad says she is done with kids...but doesn't she look so cute holding Tatum?  I think she needs a little girl.  ;o)
