Liz's Wedding

I was back in Florida again last week for one of my girlfriends weddings. It was a gorgeous wedding. Dylan and I had a BLAST!

We got in late Thursday night and stayed with our friend Robert. We went to this new restaurant called Vita in South Beach for a drink. Micky Rourke and Naomi Campbell were also there. I've only seen Micky's mug shots and always thought he looked ROUGH, he looks just the same in person if anyone was ever wondering. I didn't get to see Naomi (yes, we are on a first name basis) because I was leaning on the bar talking to my mom on the phone when she walked by. Dylan was facing the opposite direction and when he told me she is walking by I looked the wrong way and then when I looked back she was already out the door. Oh well, she probably would have just thrown something at me anyways.

So Friday we made our way up to Fort Lauderdale for a weekend of wedding festivities.

Florida

Dylan and I were in Florida all last week. We had a really good time. Hung out with Dad from Saturday to Wednesday then were on our way to Disney World till the following Saturday.

Orlando airport SUCKS! Here are the reasons why:
1. It took over an hour for us to get our baggage.
2. They don't sell gum! I tried to find some gum for Dylan before boarding and the lady told me there is no gum anywhere in the airport. I asked why and she said, "Its just too messy." Someone should stand outside and sell gum for $5 a pack, they would make a KILLING!

We had a really good time at Dad's. It was Dylan's first time there. He already wants to retire and move there. We went to the driving range a couple times, he played golf everyday, we ate a lot, and drank even more. Even I played golf. It was my first real game EVER. We just played a 9 hole course but it was just enough for my first time. I got a Par on one hole and Dad and I beat Barbara and Dylan. I also gave Dylan a Mohawk! Here are some pics from our visit.

On to Disney World we went. Dylan had a 2pm Tee Time (Hasn't he already golfed enough) so we had to book it down. We made it just in time. We pulled up to the Swan and Dolphin Walt Disney World Resort right at 1:15 when the other guys were pulling away, so I snapped my fingers at the Bell Hop, had them take our bags in and Dylan left to go golf in Disney World.

I went to the spa while he was in his class on Thursday then we just hung out by the pool. Friday he skipped his class so we had breakfast at one of the resort restaurants, which was FABULOUS and then to the pool again.

Thursday night was the Awards Dinner. Dylan received his award for DSF of the YEAR! Out of everyone in the entire nation that does what he does (there are thousands) he was #1. (DSF = Developing Sales Force, those in their first 5 years of the business). The entertainment for the night was the group called "All That", they were on America's Got Talent. Its a tap dancing group of 5 guys. They were VERY good.

I really am proud of that kid! He works really hard so he deserves it!

After the dinner we all changed and headed to Downtown Disney, basically just a bunch of bars and clubs for the big kids visiting Mickey. When you walk in you can either get a pass for all 5 clubs or buy a pass for just one club. We got there after midnight and they closed at 1:30 so we decided to just get the 1 club pass. Basically we just had to take a guess as to which club would be the most fun. We somehow ended up at a Gay 70's bar. We took the advise of the girl sweeping up the ground. I'm not sure who made the final ok on that but it WAS NOT me! We made it fun but mutually agreed it was a BAD decision. We also saw the "All That" guys while we were there.

So Friday night we were on our own for dinner. We went to the resorts sushi restaurant called, Kimono's. Again, GREAT food. We were just about to leave and go hang out on The Boardwalk when one of their friends showed up and wanted to have a drink with us. BIG MISTAKE! Dinner started at 7:30pm, we finally left the restaurant at 1:30am. Others began to show up and people were buying bottles of Sake like they were going out of style. THEN there was karaoke. Asians LOVE Karaoke! Seriously. I bet William Hung goes every night! Anyways, Dylan and I have NEVER actually got up on stage and sang, so we figured why the hell not. We got up and sang Free Fallin'. Then before the night was over, I swear we were pros, singing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and about 5 other songs that I can't remember right now! Needless to say, we had a really good time.

Saturday we decided to finally go to a park since we hadn't done much but hang out at the pool. We bought tickets to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We bought the Fast Pass which allows you to basically cut. When I went last year with my Mom we bought them and they are GREAT, if you have the extra money. They are $55 each and there is a separate line, we didn't wait anymore than 15 minutes and I'm not sure we even waited that long. The regular lines were anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Our flight left around 9, or at least that was when it was scheduled. We took off around 10:30 and walked in the door around 1am. Mom picked us up at the airport with Carmen. Thankfully she watched Carmen the whole week while we were gone so that was a BIG RELIEF!

I'm SO glad we left on Saturday instead of Sunday. Being gone for a whole week then going straight back to work would have been awful!

The weather was PERFECT so Sunday we went to the nursery and got lots of flowers to plant. I planted flowers while Dylan pulled weeds in the front yard. The yard is finally starting to look colorful and weedless!

And now we are getting ready to head to the airport to go BACK to Florida, I know, rough life!

Dylan plays in a basketball league and plays off started last night. They played 2 games. They won their first game against the worst team and then had an hour break then played the best team in the league and beat them too!!! It was a very exciting game. The championship games are next Tuesday which is unfortunate since we will be out of town. Hopefully they will win it all!

Happy Easter

Happy Birthday Monica!

We went to dinner with some friends on friday night to celebrate Monica's birthday. We had dinner at Uncle Julio's (one of Dylan and I's favorite spots) and then went for a drink afterwards. We all had a really good time.

The guys were there physically but not so much mentally. They were all constantly checking scores and updates for the College Playoff games that were going on.

No excuses

I have no excuse for not blogging lately, unless laziness can be used. We went to a Mavs game last week with Beth and Keith and then had some St. Patty's Day fun out on Greenville last Saturday.

But here is what I wanted to discuss today. "Charges filed against boyfriend of woman stuck on toilet."

The above story was on CNN sometime last week and I couldn't believe they were even looking in to filing charges against this guy. My first question was why would he staywith her for 2 years like that, but everyone has their own reasons for doing things, maybe he is just a really nice guy or a little messed up in the head too. Now they (District Court) are filing charges against the boyfriend, isn't HE the one we should all feel sorry for??? #1 he put up with his girlfriend sitting on a toilet for 2 years and now he is being punished for it? I think they both need help but throwing him in jail or filing charges against him isn't going to help anyone!

Other than that, wedding plans are and aren't coming along. Depends how you look at it. I have 4 months to get my @$$ in shape and to get everything finalized. I think I need another trip to Mexico to be sure its all coming together...what do you think???

More Snow

We had flurries on Monday night, all signs of it gone by Tuesday morning. Yesterday was in the 60's then it snows again today. I just don't get it. Its MARCH!

This is my front yard.

On the down side: Traffic was AWFUL!!! Took me an hour and a half to get home.
On the up side: I got to leave work early. I felt like we got a snow day or something.

I Spoke Too Soon

So today the temperature dropped to 30 degrees and is now currently snowing. I guess that's what I get for bragging about the great weather we were having. The drive to work tomorrow morning will be interesting.

Today I had to get gas on my way to work. I pull up put my card then attempt to open my gas tank. You have to push it in and then it just pops out. At least that's the way its supposed to work. So I'm pushing and nothing is happening. Its about 45 degrees so I'm not really happy at this point. After 10 minutes and turning my key 50 different ways in the ignition, I'm late for work and panicking. More about the fact that I have to deal with this in the cold than that I'm late for work.

I call my boss and explain that I can't get my gas tank open and don't have enough gas to get to work. I'm sure he believed that! I change pumps. Not sure why I thought that would magically make it open. Still nothing. I'm pushing hard and soft and banging and UGH! I SWEAR its the car, but just in case I decide to get out my User's Manual from the trunk. I have had my car since September and never once had this problem.

Well, apparently the gas tank is connected to the door locks in the car. When I got in the car to leave the house I locked the doors then when I got out to get gas I only unlocked the driver side door, I made the mistake of not pushing the unlock button. I really think whoever made the decision to connect the gas tank to the door locks wasn't really thinking clearly. I mean if one door is unlocked, isn't that enough? Needless to say I was about 45 minutes late and the gas station clerk now knows me as the dumb blonde who can't open her gas tank. I guess I've been called worse, but I definitely had a dumb blonde moment.
