Fall is Here!

You wouldn't know by the weather but I decided it was late enough in the year that we could start our Fall and Halloween Fun!

Morning snuggles

It's so nice (for now) with Druz in his big boy bed.  They came down and got in bed with me for some morning cartoons today.

I will cherish these moments forever!

Play Time

We took a trip to Parr Park today.  Kids needed to burn off some energy and I could use some fresh air.  I haven't had much energy to do much so while I have a little spurt of it, I need to use it!

Farewell to The Phelans

One of my good friends is moving to California.  I'm sad. The kids will be sad too...BUT last tonight was about celebrating, so that's what we did.

Soccer

Team picture

We started Saturday off with Tatum's soccer game.  She played great again and had about 3 goals.  Wish I could get some video up but will work on that.  She loves playing and that's what matters.  I love watching them have fun out on the field kicking the ball around...in the right direction or not.  ;o)

Nesting

I've officially hit my nesting stage.

Today I cleaned the laundry room top to bottom, scrubbed the bathroom, as well as the back hall floor.  I washed every blanket, bib, burp rag, and piece of clothing from 0-6 months and it's now folded, waiting to be loaded in Camdyn's dresser.  That's about 6 loads of laundry right there.  I have stocked up on groceries, just in case she decides to come early and made a list of what to do if I'm not here when the kids have school, i.e. what to pack in their lunches, when school starts, etc.

I'm 37 weeks today.

I went to Home Depot earlier this week to get paint for Camdyn's room.  As I walk in the guy at the door greets me, "Hi, Welcome to Home Depot, be sure not to lift anything heavy."  My thoughts... oh thanks because I was just about to go throw that lawn mower over my should and head to the check out.  Appreciate the advise buddy.

I have another dr appointment tomorrow.  Wonder if she'll think I look better or worse?

Things are slowing down here activity wise.  And by that I mean, I'm slowing down activity wise.  The kids go to school, gymnastics, soccer, and whatever other weekly obligations we have but I've turned into the inactive mom so the park and swimming is pretty much out.  I did take them to the library last week but only because it has AC and I can sit down while they listen to story time.  It's still in the mid to high 90's so that is the excuse I'm using.  I did take the kids for a walk around the block with the dogs on Monday.  That's about as good as it gets around here.  They are really good at running around the house playing games with each other and keeping busy.  I'll throw out a craft or some kind of project if I think they are on the verge of fighting or getting bored.  So that's worked so far.  Maybe I'll get out next week.  I hear a cold front is coming through at the end of the week.  Bring the temps to low 90s/high 80s.  Since when is that a cold front?  I had to check my seat heaters yesterday when I was driving around because I was so hot I thought for sure they were on...Nope, just the big pregnant girl letting off some serious heat.

I get the look from everyone now.  I know what they are thinking..."Shouldn't she have had that baby by now?!?!?!"  "When is she due?"  "Poor thing!"  I feel the same way.

Dad gets here next week so I'll likely put him to work.  Furniture needs moved back into the baby's room, I'd like to get the fall decorations out before I go into labor, you know that kind of thing.  With soccer on Saturdays and Dylan playing softball after church on Sundays, our weekends are getting just as busy as our week days.

I ordered a couple final things for Tatums room and have one thing left to get, then her room will be totally and completely done.  I will not buy or get another thing for her room until she is 18 and moving out of the house.  I'll take pictures once it's complete.

Druz room is half way done.  I just have a few decorative things left to get and then he is all set.  He loves his big boy bed and hasn't had any issues.  It's actually been much easier to put him to bed at nap time and at night.  In the mornings, I don't even have to trek upstairs.  He just calls for me and I tell him he can come downstairs through the monitor.

Tatum has actually put him down for a nap, a few times.  He asks her to and who am I to stop it?  She tells him to get in bed and I listen and watch on the monitor.  She asks me if the monitor is on the bed ok so I can see, then reads a book and tells him to close his eyes as she walks out and closes the door.   Mom of the year right here, I know.

Poor Camdyn.  This girl might just get the short end of the stick for life.  She has furniture, only because it was her brothers but I have yet to get bedding.  I think I found what I plan to buy but I'm really good at changing my mind.  Just ask the painter.  He was scheduled for Monday, I canceled him Sunday night then called back an hour later to tell him to please come.  He probably thinks I'm crazy.  I went to get the paint 30 minutes before he was to arrive and just settled with a light gray because I can hopefully manage to put anything with that.  At this point, I would just like to get bedding ordered before she arrives.  I don't care if the room is ready, I just want it on the way.

I bought newborn diapers yesterday.  They are so small it's scary to think I'm about to have something that fits in them again.  All her onesies and moses basket bedding is washed and her car seat is out and ready to go.  I just need to pack a bag at some point.  Both the kids came early so I'm just anticipating that to happen again.  If not, great!  If it does, then at least I'm one step ahead, right?

The next few weeks will be interesting!

Game #3

Tatum came out of her shell today at her game.  I was so proud of her.  She scored at least 5 goals and would have been more if she has a little better aim.  She is pretty fast so she would just kick the ball down the field and then run to get it.  Most of the time no one could catch her so she just kept kicking them in the goal.  Dylan video's so I don't have much to show but just know it was a great game!

We played our first girls team.  Once again, I was a little concerned because she told me that you don't take the ball from girls, only boys.  But apparently it didn't stop her.  She was our little soccer star today.

We always celebrate with snow cones afterwards, which she is totally pumped about every time and talks about it the whole game.

I didn't take one picture.  Just imagine it being awesome...because it was.

Just me and my boy

Tatum had school today so Druz and I got to hang out.  I took him to Central Market for breakfast and play time on the playground then we decided to head to Grapefest since the festival was here for the weekend.

Heading into the Kid Zone

Checking out the touch tanks

 Spiderman riding a tractor

Alison and her kiddos and brother were there too.  Kyle was a trooper and rode with the boys

Kiss and Spiderman

 A VERY sleepy spiderman

Just me and my O'Douls.
Clearly a joke.  We had a friend working one of the beer booths for her charity, HDS, so we stopped by and couldn't pass up the photo op.  You can't really tell but it's resting on my huge belly.

Game #2

Every team has a week night game, just one.  We had ours tonight.  I'm happy we got it over with.  The game was at 5:30 and after the activity of school and trying to get back into a routine, I was afraid she would be done before the game even started.  Kids are resilient!  She was great once again.  They asked who wanted to be the team captain and she quickly raised her hand.  Her Daddy was so proud...had to snap a pic of it.

Dylan coached on the field this game because our coach wasn't able to make it, so the assistant asked if he wanted to run around with the kids, he was happy to do it.

I was horrible about taking video the first game so this game I was horrible about taking pictures.  I can only do so many things at once and keep track of my two year old at the same time!x

We played another boys team.  It seems like the boys don't quite get it the first half and the girls are all over it.  Then the second half the girls are worn out from playing soccer in 100 degrees and the boys finally catch on.

This picture must have been from the first half.  The girls are going after the ball and the three boys are just kind of standing there watching.  I had my concerns about all girls teams playing all boys teams but was told the girls are more aggressive as this age.  I didn't believe it but it's definitely true!

We had family pictures taken about a month ago.  I don't have a CD drive on my computer so I can't post them.  Here are a couple that I saved from facebook.  I'll post more once I get them loaded.

"It's today," squeaked Piglet.

"My favorite day," said Pooh.

Happy Birthday Elle!

We had a birthday party for a friend this weekend.  The kids had fun.  Pool time and cupcakes is any kids dream.

First Soccer Game

Tatum had her first soccer game.  It was against an all boys team.  I'll be honest, I was a little worried about her wanting to play.  She totally surprised me.  She did great.  As good as a four year old can do, anyways.  She went after the ball and tried to kick it, which mean success in four year old soccer terms.

We happened to see Aslynn and Hudson at the fields before her game.

Tatum and her team (minus one player) before her first game.

Warming up

Half time rest and snack.  Druz thinks his sister is so cool.

Our little athlete in the making

I should also mention that Dylan and I received the parent of the year award.  Within the first 5 minutes of being at the fields.  We lost Druz.  The worse part is that we didn't even know.  Some guy came over to our field and asked if "this kid belongs to someone".  Oops!  Of course I thought Dylan had him and he thought I had him.  He was kicking the ball around and just kept kicking all the way across to the other fields.  Needless to say, we will keep a better eye on him in the future!

I will also mention that we have TCU season tickets and today was the first home game.  The game started at 11 and Tatum's game was at 1pm.  It sucks being a parent sometimes.  There was no way we could make it to the game.  Let's hope this is the last conflict!!!
Tyler's football team played Grapevine High School on Friday night.  Our kids will go to Grapevine so we decided to go.  The kids had fun.  Druz is so mesmerized by the game.  He sat through the entire thing and was very upset when we told him it was time to go.

This is our babysitter, Katie.  She is the drill team president.  She happened to see us (and probably hear Tatum yelling her name a million times) so she came to say hi.  It made Tatums night.

Baby Update and Soccer

I had a doctors appointment today too.  All is well in baby land.  The nurse told me I'm looking better.  What the hell does that mean???  What did I look like before?  I stopped working out after my ER visit and since I stopped working out I gave up on eating healthy.  I figured I have one month left to indulge without worrying about my growing bottom so why not enjoy it!  So, my response was, "Why?  Because I gained weight?"  She pretty much avoided answering that so whatever.  I'm 9 months pregnant.  How could I possibly look better today than I did a month ago???  But thanks...I think.

Anyways, other than the awkward compliment that I didn't know how to respond to or take...the baby is good.  I'm not dilated, which I was surprised by and also very happy about.  He thinks she turned head down but can't tell 100% since I'm not dilated yet.  I go back in two weeks and he will do a sono to make sure she is ready to go.  I'm 35 weeks so next time I see the doctor, I will be considered full term, 37 weeks.

I have yet to purchase bedding or have her room painted.  I did locate the car seat and moses basket so I just need to wash a couple onesies and buy some diapers and I'll be all set.  Hopefully I will have a little more done before she arrives but to be honest, I'm feeling much better about her arrival.  If this were my first or even second kid, I would be in sheer panic mode about getting her room done.  She won't even be sleeping in her room for a few weeks so I still have time, even after she arrives.  Especially with the kids back in school I have a couple days to get things together.

At least I'm trying to convince myself of all this.

Tatum had soccer practice again tonight.  Dylan took her and ended up coaching.  I guess the coach didn't show up and the assistant coach had no idea what to do so Dylan took over.  He came home saying he loved it and forgot how much he loves coaching.  This is a good and bad thing.  I love that he loves coaching but by that he means, he wants to show up at the games and practices and coach.  There is a little more to being a coach.  For example, relaying information.  This would mean WE are coaching so let's hope he at least holds off on taking over coaching duties until next season.  I have enough to juggle right now!

Don't get me wrong, I like that he wants to coach.  Tatum loved him being there and coaching and I love that they get to spend time together, something for just them.

She may change her mind though...they stayed after practice to work on drills.  I asked Dylan if he was the crazy Dad out there.  He said he wasn't.  She was still smiling so I guess that's a good sign.

First Day of Pre-School!

We had meet the teacher on Tuesday and today was our first official day of school.  They were both so excited.  They are going to the same school this year and it's the first time Druz is in a formal pre-k.

I let her pick out her own shoes after we got her hair cut yesterday.  I really thought she would pick a pink pair.  For some reason she went with red.  I'm already regretting letting her make this decision because as we were picking out her clothes last night for her first day, I realized, she has NOTHING with red.  So she picked out this black and white outfit.  I would have returned them and played dumb when they came up mysteriously missing but she wore them out of the store so I nixed that for myself.  Needless to say, I will be doing the shopping solo from now on!

Druz was a trooper and pretty much said, "See you later Mom", as he walked into class.  Tatum on the other hand, who has rarely ever cried or even noticed when I left the room, decided this was going to be her day to be the baby.  She was crying and kept saying she missed Ms. Tammi, who was her teacher last year.  Ms. Tammi moved so she isn't at the school anymore.  I tried explaining this to Tatum as well as telling her that even IF she were there she teachers 3 year olds and now that she is 4 she gets a new teacher.  She wasn't having it so I just gave her a kiss and hug and told the new teacher, Good Luck!

I think it's safe to say she wore herself out at school.  We hadn't been in the car for more than 5 minutes.

A little pampering

I took Tatum to get her hair cut today.  She was a little excited, to say the least.  She just wanted to be sure he was only cutting the ends and not all of it.  After reassuring her we would be leaving the salon with the majority of her hair still attached to her head, in we went.

I have no idea how he can get her hair that straight.  It almost makes me feel like a bad mom because its usually all kinds of crazy when I do it.  She felt so pretty with her "soft hair".  She is now officially ready for school to start.

Visitors

Ron and Liza came for the weekend.  Ron offered his assistance in getting some things around the house done and prepared for the baby.  I was not going to pass that up!

Gammie and G-Pop always bring cool stuff.  The kids got a kick out of their drinking glasses.

It seems like we always put them to work when they are here!  I had a whole list of things for him to do and he got straight to work when they arrived on Saturday afternoon.

He painted curtain rods...

It was time for everyone to upgrade beds.  Tatum got her new bed a couple weeks ago.  I swore I would never move a kid out of a crib unless they tried to climb out but with one on the way I decided it was time.  Druz loved his crib and could climb out if he wanted but would rather just stay and hang out in it, which I was fine with.  They have to grow up sometime I guess so I had Dylan and Ron unassemble Tatums toddler bed.  They moved the toddler bed to Druz room with all the matching furniture and the crib and its matching furniture were moved to Camdyn's room.  Of course nothing can be done without the assistance of the little people...and a dog.

All the boxes of baby items were brought out of the attic.  I have so much stuff to sort through!  It's amazing the things you accumulate.  Now, I'm struggling with getting rid of all the boy clothes or hanging on to them for just a little longer.  What to do, what to do???

A chandelier was hard wired, then assembled and hung in Tatums closet.  The assembling part was the worst of it.  There were about 100 little glass pieces that you had to attach then each tier had to be clipped separately.  He probably wasn't happy about it but he completed it with ease.

We also hung a curtain rod and curtains in Tatums room as well as hung book shelves.

We saved a little time for fun.

Gammie enjoying sometime at Tatums spa.

G-Pop and Tatum practicing her cheerleading moves.
