95 Years Young

Today my Grandpa turns 95...can you believe that?  95?  Wish we had been there to celebrate.

Love you Grandpa!  Happy Birthday!

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Holy heck...I don't recall having a worse night with the kids, even when they were little babies.  Dylan and I were up most of the night, last night, with one or the other.  Tatum started at 10, crying and saying she was scared and refused to sleep in her own bed. I finally just put her in our bed because I was tired of laying on her floor waiting for her to fall asleep.  Around midnight, I managed to put her back in her bed, in hopes that it would last until morning.

Druz decided at 2:30am that it was his turn to make some noise.  Dylan went in since I was up with Tatum earlier.  He put him back to bed, I thanked him and he responded with..."Don't thank me yet."  That didn't give me much confidence.

Sure enough, a few minutes later he was screaming again so I went in, calmed him down and went back to bed.  This kid just wasn't happy.  He was up again and this time he woke up Tatum.  As I'm trying to calm him back down, I hear Tatum's door open and her crying so I meet her in the hall way, take her to our room and tell her to lay down with Daddy.  I end up staying up with Druz until 5am!  We both crash in the day bed until 7.

This Mama woke up TIRED!!!

Dylan always comes through in the clutch.  He cleaned the kitchen from last night, took care of the kids for most of the day and didn't mention a thing about me taking 2 naps...seriously 2 naps in one day...I was on Druz' schedule.

I'm now laying in bed, praying that tonight goes much more smoothly.

More Fun!

We had quite the busy weekend and its only Saturday!

Tatum had a birthday party to go to.  The weather was perfect.  She had so much fun.  We had to give her a "leave" present to get her to leave without an all out tantrum.  Alison was passing out the goody bags and I told Tatum it was a leave present that you only get when you go home.  I hope she believes that for at least a couple more parties!

My girl LOVES to jump...when she heard their was going to be a trampoline, that was all she could think about!

My big boys first wagon ride...with Joey

Taking a quick break from all the fun

Eating some green pancakes

Going for a wagon ride with the birthday girl

Taking a rest break with Brody

Dylan and Druz making a special delivery to Chris while I got ready for our dinner guests and Tatum too a much needed nap.

After Aslynn's party it was time to get to cooking, we decided to have a few friends over for dinner and with kids in tow, its just easier to hang at the house.

Crazy Day!

We had quite a busy and crazy day today.

The inspectors were to be at the house from 12-4 so that means we had to be out.  Do you know what a pain it is for me to pack up my kids and find something to do for that period of time?

First we dropped Playa at the groomers to get a bath (much needed) then we headed to Central Market for some lunch and play time with Tiff, Liz, Alison, and all the kids.

After CM we had a few errands to run.  Dropping a few things off and checking out some lots and house Dylan wanted me to drive by since I was out in the area.  Both kids slept while I drove around for a couple hours.  Nice quality naps...I figured I was in for it later but what can you do?

I picked up Playa then headed home to get ready for dinner.  When I pulled up at 4:15pm the guy was still here so I stopped by The Fletcher's to kill some time.  We had dinner plans at 5:30 and I still needed to shower so I wasn't very happy.  Both kids were screaming because they had been in the car all day and I just wanted to go home!

We made it to dinner, although I didn't get to shower but worse things could happen.  Druz was a fussy butt all night but at least we got to enjoy a great meal with friends while the "big kids" played.  Thanks for having us Freelands!

Popsicles Already???

With the weather being so nice, Tatum got to enjoy her first popsicle of the year.

iLOVE it!

I'm wearing shorts and a tank top today.  I can't believe this BEAUTIFUL February weather.  80 degrees and the sun is shining bright!

Oh, and I'm no longer an Apple Virgin.  I'm the proud new owner of an iPhone.  I dropped my Droid yesterday for the 500th time and it shattered.  I was up for an early upgrade so I said, why the heck not!

Now, I just need to get that iMac and I'll be all set.  ;o)

Is this it?!?!?!

It's official, we have a contract on the house!

We are very excited.  We are still in the option period so we will just pray and keep our fingers crossed that everything works out as it should.

Now we just need to decide where to go from here.  We are completely torn as far as where we want to move.  Stay in Fort Worth or head to the Burbs???  Decisions Decisions!

God Made the Stars

Tatum makes my heart melt.

We try and teach our children the important things in life, that's really the ultimate goal, right?.

I will count yesterday as a success.

As we are unloading kids and bags and everything else out of the car after Sunday dinner at Mom's, Dylan is holding Tatum and says...

Daddy:  Wow Tatum, look at those stars, they are so pretty tonight.
Tatum: God made those stars Daddy...

In Sunday school yesterday she also memorized her first bible verse: Love God with all Your Heart.  She repeats it if you start it for her...she also loves singing Jesus Loves Me, especially the "He is STRONG" part.

She is a great prayer, she says our dinner prayer every night and says thank you for everyone sitting at the table, then for our food and then for God.

I just want to freeze these moments in time.

Girls Night!

We had a fun Girl's Night last night.  It was quite an experience.  We had dinner at Hattie's then went The Kessler for what we thought was a "Pretty Little Things" burlesque show.  It didn't exactly turn out as expected but we still had a blast and to quote Alison's blog, we got to experience some firsts together, none that we would have chosen, but nonetheless, they were firsts.

Good Times!

9 Months!

I really just can't believe it.  Time goes by faster and faster. I haven't loaded the pictures yet so stay tuned but I wanted to get completely caught up on blogging so just a quick update will have to do.

He is definitely becoming more aware.  He doesn't like it when I leave the room and he REALLY isn't a fan of me dropping him off at Mother's Day Out.  He will get over it but I was really hoping he would be my easy baby with that stuff.

No more teeth, I swear Tatum had more teeth by now but my boy is still holding strong at 4.

He is all over the place and can move from one place to another (couch to coffee table, etc) with one hand as his support.

Babbles constantly.

He is still sweet and easy-going.

He gets up around 7-7:15 lately, which is a great improvement from his usual 6:30am.  His sweet little smile brightens my morning every time!

Hmmmmm.

Do you think I should be concerned???

We needed to kill sometime after school today so we went to the zoo.  I think we were the only people there.  It was in the upper 50's and 3:15 (they close at 4).  Just one more reason why living near the zoo is so great.

Daddy brought Tatum roses and a balloon for Valentine's Day.  She LOVED them and felt very special.

SNOW!

It snowed!

It didn't stick and was gone by morning but it did snow.

Druz Dedication

Druz was dedicated at church today.

It's called a Parent Dedication because it is more about us dedicating our lives to Druz and his walk with Christ.

We get to pick a verse for him, we chose:

"The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life."  Psalm 121:7

This is what I feel like all out family pictures will turn out to look like.  Or maybe it's just the TRUE picture of our family.

All of us with our Pastor, Chris Freeland.
We absolutely LOVE our church family!

We all went to brunch afterwards and Druz got his very first Bible

Gam-E and G-Pop Visit

I HATE it when I realize AFTER the fact that I didn't take any pictures!

Ron and Liza were in town over the weekend to hang out, help out, and to see Druz get Dedicated.  I didn't get any pictures of Liza and only one of Ron.  UGH!

We had lunch at Yucatan Taco Stand before getting started with all the projects we had on our To Do list in order to get the house in selling condition.  Apparently Dylan was feeling really tough this day.

Tatum helping G-Pop paint.  G-Pop painted and replaced the fan blades on the front porch, patched some small holes in the walls, and painted the walls.  I know there was more. We definitely put him to work when he is here!

Will Run For Chocolate

I ran in the Hot Chocolate 15k today.  It was FREEZING!  The race officials sent an email the night before saying that hypothermia is a concern so if you run at a 12 min/mile pace, you should probably just do the 5k for fear of exposure to the cold.  I decided at that point (while still in bed at 5:30am) that I was out.  Then about 5 minutes later, I heard Druz rustling around and decided I would go after all.

I'm glad I went.  It was cold (27 degrees, wind chill 17) but the sun was shining and it ended up being my best race yet!  I was quite proud of myself.  My official time was 9:38 minutes per mile which is really good for me.

On to the next one...

Aquarium

We met Aslynn and Alison at the aquarium today.  Tatum LOVES that place.  She was afraid of the underwater tunnel but wanted to touch and hold everything in the touch tanks.  Funny Girl.  Depends on the day with her.

While Daddy's Away...

The kids will play.

Dylan decided to head to California for a business conference.  He said it was business anyways, he left Saturday morning and got back Wednesday.  I'm not sure a college basketball game and a Super Bowl party constitute business but maybe the business world has changed since I've been in it.

Huh?  Me, upset about it, no, never! Well,  maybe it irritated me a little.  But just a little.

I did get a lot done while he was gone, thanks to my mom who hung out with us and packed up lots of boxes.

We decided to put the house back on the market so the realtor came over while Dylan was gone and gave me some suggestions to stage the house.  Mom and I packed up seven boxes of stuff.  Yikes!  When we move it's going to be a nightmare!

With all the bruises my kids have had in the last month, you would think there is more going on at home but I promise it wasn't me!

During the Super Bowl, which I watched at Mom's during our usualy Sunday night dinner, Tatum and Tross were playing and she tripped and fell right into the windowsill.  I FREAKED out because I thought she smashed her face on the tiled fireplace.  Definitely lesser of the two evils, but still my baby was hurting!

Druz watching the big game with his cousin

My loves...enjoying a lazy morning in bed with Mommy.

Mom must have left her sleep mask at the house...Tatum thought it was fun.

Druz VERY quickly figured out the walker.  He thinks its HILARIOUS to ram into the dog bowls, spilling water everywhere.  And if that isn't enough, he also likes to pick up the water bowls and dump them out on the floor.  BOYS!!!

Tatum stands on the back and he will pull her around.  Pretty funny, until he gets frustrated because he is too tired to pull her.

Packing paper is a multipurpose item.  We love it and it provided lots of entertainment for Tatum.  I even packed some of my things with the decorated pages.  It will be fun to see them again when I'm unpacking the boxes one day.  ;o)
