I do a weekly report at work and send it out to others via email. Once I finish the email, I just look at it for at least 10 minutes. Just staring. Trying to think of ANYTHING I may have forgotten or missed. I will put my cursor over the send button numerous times before actually hitting send. I will even save the email do something else then go back and stare at is again for another 10 minutes. After torturing myself for about 30 minutes, changing NOTHING. I hit send. Why do I do this???

I do the same thing when dropping mail at the post office. When I put it in my own mail box, its not a problem. I assume this is because I can always go back and get it if I forgot something. But dropping it in that big blue tank just makes me nervous. It so... FINAL. What if I didn't put a stamp on it, or forgot the return address, OR put the wrong bill in with another.

I'm usually a pretty laid back person but these few minutes and seconds that I'm contemplating whether to hit send or drop it in the box, I just can't get it together!

Does this make me crazy?

Better Late than Never

I may not be blonde anymore but this one went right over my head the first time I saw it. The second time it was spelled out for me. Whether I'm smart or not. WE STILL WON!

Need help figuring out the sign or was I the only one?

Thanks to all who have served our country.

Had a fun weekend. Surprise Party on Saturday. My girlfriend threw her husband a surprise 30th bday party. It was ALMOST a surprise. One of his friends text him about an hour before the party and said, "Sorry I can't make it to your party tonight!" Really? Who does that? Didn't he read the SHHHHHH on the invitation or the SURPRISE part? Oh well, we all had a good time.

As the party was getting into full swing, I watched the Tech game. We won...YEAH! Sorry Maddie, I know you were hoping for a win. ;o) I can not wait till this weeks game vs. OU.

Sunday I went to a baby shower and then just hung out. I was tired. I'm still not used to the sun going down so early.

Thanks for the comments on my hair. I'm getting used to it more everyday. Its probably just temporary but its a fun change while it lasts.

Blonde to Brunette

I finally did it. I've been talking about it for a while, but today I finally did it!

I'm now a brunette.

I'm going back in 2 weeks to get it a shade darker, she wanted me to get used to this first.

Finishing out the Weekend

Tross had his last football game on saturday. It was a play-off game and they lost so they are out but they made a good effort. The games were fun to watch. I guess there are a couple more games/tournaments in Louisiana but I don't think we will be going to those. We will just anxiously await next years games instead.

As most of you probably saw, Tech KILLED Texas. It was definitely one of the BEST games I have ever watched. That last catch with one second on the clock was unbelievable. Just about every play in the game was unbelievable. I can't wait to watch them next weekend vs. OSU. Hopefully they will do just as well.

We just got back from sunday dinner at Mom's. Ate too much as usual but it was DEE-LICIOUS.

With the time change it seems so much later than it really is. I plan to hit the sack early and maybe get a little extra sleep to start off my week.

Good Night.

We've been busy!

Dylan's parents were in town over the weekend. We got a TON of stuff done in the garage. They repainted the front where it was all chipped and they put up peg boards and bike racks and a tool cabinet.

We also went to the King Tut exhibit at The Dallas Museum of Art. It was VERY interesting.

The few weekends before that we had one of the boys. Last weekend was Vitross and the weekend before that we had Tyler. I'm glad they like hanging out with us and don't think we are too old and embarrassing...YET.

Vitross wrote Dylan a really sweet letter about how he likes coming to our house because we have cool drinks (capri-sun and gatorade) and Dylan plays with them and that no matter if he does good or bad in his football game, Dylan always tells him good job. It was a really thoughtful letter and I think it meant a lot to both of them.

We have been cooking on the grill a lot and had mom over for a little thank you dinner so she could enjoy her gift to us as well!

Beverly Hills 90210

I just can't get enough of it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVED the original show when I was in middle school. At least I think thats when it was on air. But NOW...WOW! I look forward to Tuesdays just so I can watch the new show. I record it on my DVR and get anxious when I know its at home waiting for me and I can skip through all the commercials. I'm getting antsy just thinking about what they will have in store next week!
Dylan? I totally thought it was going to be Brandon!

Who would have thought Kelly would be a guidance counselor?!?! I mean I think its great but I thought she would be like a fashionista working in NY in the fashion industry or something.

Now the play with the sex scene and the kissing... I mean Annie's Dad was in the audience watching and I just think if that were my Dad he would NOT be ok with all that, especially the PRINCIPAL!

And lastly, getting a hotel room at the Roosevelt when you are in high school? Do kids really do that? Where do their parents think they are? And when Adriana turned off the shower and Ty wasn't even in there?!?!?! OH, THE DRAMA!!!

With Ugly Betty AND Grey's Anatomy starting back up tonight, I'm in for a busy little TV season!

Football and Sad Day

Dad left this morning to go back home. I always get a little sad when he leaves, but we'll see him in 2 months for Thanksgiving.

I tied Grandpa in Fantasy Football this week. I normally wouldn't be happy about that but since I was 0-2 going into week 3, I'll take the tie.

I'm footballed out! Thankfully I enjoy watching it cause I had my fair share the last few days! It all started on Saturday with Tross' game at 9am in Rockwall! We were up and out of the house by 7:45AM. No Bueno! After that Dad was itching to see the Ohio State game so we had lunch at a Sports Bar and stayed till the game was over. Then another game of Tross' on Sunday, and of course the Cowboys game. We watched Monday night football since Favre is my Fantasy QB and we finished up with Tyler's game against Highland Village yesterday in Justin. Woohoo, that's a lot of football! (Tross is 23, Tyler is 48)

If you notice in this picture, Tross has a glove on. I guess he just thought it was cool. Dad called him Michael (Michael Jackson) the rest of the weekend.

While Dad was here he helped with a few things around the house. When I say help, I mean he acted as the foreman while Vicki and I did all the work. We put together our grill (thanks Mom!)and Dad just barked orders. He did screw in 2 screws (out of 931) and of course got frustrated and cussed like a sailor. I swear he is more like Grandpa everyday! I enjoyed the entertainment though.

After all that work, Vicki and I needed a drink!

This is the boys Bowling on the Wii.

I saved the best for last! Happy Birthday to Grandma. Who had a birthday on sunday. ;o) Love you!

Summers Over

I'm really sad about summer being over. Its my favorite time of the year. Spring and Fall (in Texas) are a close second but I love me some summer! I have to specify Texas because up north is still too cold for me during spring and fall. Its pretty up there but just too cold.

It was 90 degrees today so it doesn't really FEEL like summer is gone.

I'm trying to figure out what I will do to keep in shape over the next few months. Dylan is already talking about the 5 pounds people gain around the holidays. HOLIDAYS! Can you believe the holiday season is right around the corner?!?!?! I will have to get my Halloween/Fall decorations from the attic this weekend.

OK, sorry for the random thoughts. Here is a comment I read today on Glamour.com and you know what...its a really good question!

Ever wonder if our rear ends lose their shape and get flat as we age due to the fact that we sit all the time?

YIKES!

It Can Happen To You

You here from time to time the phrase, "It can happen to you." No matter what the situation, you think, "No way, that won't happen to me," Well, it happened to me. I logged into my credit card account to pay my bill and saw this:

FRAUD ALERT: This account has encountered suspicious transactions, please contact customer service at 1-800-000-0000 immediately.

I thought, huh??? So I clicked on the activity for the month and sure enough, there were about 15 transactions that were not from me! I'm not sure how all this happens. I have my card with me. Whoever used the number purchased everything online. Each charge was more than the one before. Here is the weirdest (Is that a word?) part of the whole thing...They were buying this stuff and sending it to my house! That freaks me out even more. They know my address! I'm not sure how or why they would do that, its just weird. They also had my phone number because they went to some site online and asked for college grant information so I received about 15 calls one night saying I requested some information about college grants.

In the end the card has been canceled, I put a fraud alert out to all 3 credit bureaus and will check my credit report. Not sure what else I can do. Thankfully we caught it early and the credit card company has been easy to work with.

Ike made a short visit over the weekend. We didn't get hit hard, just a little rain over the weekend, which is much better than most. Its so scary to think a storm can do so much damage. Keep praying for those who lost so much in Galveston and the surrounding areas.

Saturday, a group of us from church went to Beautiful Feet to serve the homeless and just help out. I cleaned out the pantry and served lunch, which were interesting tasks. Others in the group cooked lunch, folded clothes, cleaned out the freezer, the fridge, painted, fixed the water heater, plumbing, etc. Really just anything they needed. Once lunch was cooked, we served about 100 people who were either homeless or in need. It was definitely an eye opening experience and makes you thankful for all the things we have and the things we take for granted. Poor Dylan had the task of serving the plates of food and trying to keep those being served in their seat so we could feed everyone as quickly and orderly as possible. All - in - all, a great experience.

Dentist

Had a dentist appointment yesterday. I have never really been scared of the dentist, as some people are. I've never in my 28 (closer to 29) years had a cavity. Never.

The dentist was always a pretty enjoyable visit, mainly due to the fact that Mom would always take us to Dairy Queen after every appointment, so I really looked forward to it. Well, that all came to a screaching holt yesterday!

My first cavity has been discovered. Dun Dun Duh... Its a small cavity but needs a filling. YIKES! I haven't made the appointment yet but know its gotta be done soon and am not happy about it at all.

In addition to the cavity, I have to get my wisdom teeth removed. I hear they put you to sleep so I'm thinking the cavity filling will be worse since I will be awake but I'm not looking forward to either!

Growing Boys

Tyler and Vitross are growing so fast! I remember being in the hospital when both of them were born. Not the actual birth, of course.

Tyler got contacts after begging Vicki for a year or so. CONTACTS...I got my first pair in college. He is in middle school. Its crazy how quickly they grow up. He loves not having to wear glasses and looks quite handsome in his contacts. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera last time I saw him to show you how cute he is.

Vitross is playing his first year of tackle football. He is really good. I remember last year he HATED playing defense, which I guess most kids probably do at first. Now I think its growing on him. Dylan and I showed up to the game at half time today and in the first 3 plays Tross tackled the running back twice and sacked the quarterback. He is really good on offense too. I don't know the exact numbers but he had the most yards of the other running backs on his team. Wonder which position he will end up playing later on in life if he sticks with football.
Tross is #23

Labor Day Weekend

Last weekend we went to Possum Kingdom Lake and hung out with my college roomate and her husband (Michelle and Kris).

We had a blast. Here is Dylan wake-boarding and surfing.

This was a friend of Michelle's boat...Dylan rode in it, he said they went 120 MPH. Remember... Dylan isn't the adventurous type.

One Month!

We've been married one month! I figured today would be a great day to get my blog updated and get the pictures out FINALLY!!!

UUUUURRRRRRRRKKKKK.....

OK, so I STARTED this blog on August 19th, but today is August 29th. I only got as far as what you see above this. I know I know. Things just get so busy. But here are the pictures. There are a TON so I hope you have lots of time on your hands! I narrowed them down the best I could with over 2000 pictures! Click on the link below.

Dylan and I were so lucky to be able to get away for 12 days!!! We left on Saturday July 12th. Our flight was delayed a few hours but it didn't bother us, we were just so excited to be going to Mexico!

We made it to the hotel, got checked in and took a little walk around town. The next couple days we knew would be full of appointments and errands so we decided to do at least one fun thing. We decided on the Extreme Tulum Trip. We got to see the Tulum ruins, rappel, zip line, and swim in a cenote. It was such a fun trip.

Our families showed up on Wednesday and Thursday and then the rest of the group followed. There were a total of 75 people! Can you believe that! We were so happy that each and everyone of them were there with us. Now that its over I wish I had more time to spend with everyone but I kind of knew I would feel like that. We did get to hang out in the pool and go out and just relax with just about everyone so I can't complain.

Before we left for Mexico I had one main concern and that was RAIN! The weather had been perfect everyday till Friday. We went to the rehearsal dinner and it started to rain a little. Once it was over it started to POUR! I was wearing a little white dress so I didn't really even think about the weather for the next day...THE WEDDING... I was more concerned about getting home before everyone else got to see me pretty much naked!

Saturday the weather was perfect, hot, but no clouds or rain. The wedding was wonderful and the reception was a BLAST! Sunday Dolly, came a knockin' and it rained all day and into Monday. Tuesday was beautiful again and then we left Wednesday on a good note. The rain on Sunday and Monday was unfortunate for those that were only there for a couple days, but for Dylan and I it was great as we needed a couple days to re-coup!

There really are no words or ways to express what a great time we had and how awesome it was to spend time with so many loved ones in MEXICO!

If this tells you how A.D.D I have been lately...Its now September 3rd!
These are a few of our engagement pictures from the photographer. There were over 200 so these were just a couple we liked. The wedding pictures will be even more difficult to sort through since there are about 2,000!!!

Vicki's Birthday

I don't have internet at my house because we are re-doing the office. Long Story...Anyways, over the weekend was Vicki's birthday! We had a good time just hanging out at Mom's for the day. Swimming, eating, cake ice cream, the typical birthday stuff.

I told her on the 9th, but wanted to BLOG it too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VIC!!!

FINALLY!

Trying to get everything put away and getting the house back in order has taken almost all my time. Before we got married we didn't have the money to get things for the house but we had time to do it. Now we have TONS of stuff, and can't find the time to get it all done.

Dylan hung a couple shelves and a medicine cabinet in the master bathroom yesterday. We also lugged LOTS of stuff up to the attic, which is ALWAYS fun in 107 degree weather. Thankfully Dylan was the one in the attic and I was just handing things up.

We went to IKEA this weekend and bought all the office furniture...desk, cabinets, shelves, and chair. Now I just have to paint the room which I will hopefully start this week, then we have to assemble all the furniture so the office will hopefully be done sometime this month. Its been our junk room since we moved in so it will be nice to actually let people see that room when it gets finished. It was either office furniture or a golf club. I won.

We have most of the bedding so I need to get the new bedding on the bed and the old bedding will be retired to the spare room. The spare room was kind of hodge podged so it will be nice to have it all in one color/theme.

The living room is still bare on one side. We picked out the chair that will go there, which is a step...we will see when we actually buy it.

The kitchen is pretty much put together with all the new dishes and appliances. The old stuff that wasn't chipped and broken was boxed up and put in the attic. One day when Dylan and I hit the lottery, we will use the old stuff for our second home somewhere. Wishful thinking but I just didn't want to get rid of everything just yet. I figure we will donate it if we don't end up using it somewhere else.

Dylan has also used his new lawn mower twice and cleans it after every use.

He also picked up his new blower yesterday from Sears. Last week he got a shovel, wall cabinet, and some hooks. He still has to put together the grill and some other things he got. Hopefully he will get to that stuff next weekend.

We went to Sunday School yesterday. We go to a class called Union. Its about 10-15 young married or engaged couples. It was our first time to class since we got married. They did this "Tea Ceremony" where the different parts of the tea pot meant different things and then there were tea bags with different sayings that explained different parts of marriage. It was really neat to hear how each of the different aspects of the tea pot will apply to our marriage. I figure as long as Dylan just does everything I tell him to do we will be fine! Although I don't think he agrees.

Promise I will get the pics posted this week. The professional pics should be ready in the next 2-4 weeks. I hope its closer to 2!!!

FLAT TIRE!

Got a flat tire on my way to work today. NO BUENO!

I was almost to the office. Dylan had to drive 45 minutes to change my tire. Then the jack broke. Thankfully, he had his so he used that and finished the job. I was 2 hours late for work. I HATE that!

When he left I asked if he was upset for having to drive all the way to Las Colinas for me...his response, "For Better or For Worse, right?" Ahhhhh, isn't that cute?

Why men have better friends

Friendship between Women
A woman didn't come home one night. The next morning she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house. The man called his wife's 10 best friends.
None of them knew anything about it.

Friendship between Men
A man didn't come home one night. The next morning he told his wife that he had slept over at a friend's house. The woman called her husband's 10 best friends, eight of which confirmed that he had slept over, and two said that he was still there.

STAY TUNED

We are back and safe. Dolly didn't get in our way or bother our trip. Just a little rain a couple days but after 12 days in the sun, a couple rainy days aren't so bad. Gave us some time to catch up on much needed rest!

Stay Tuned, I will post pics once I get them loaded and organized.

For those that have asked and are wondering, the photographer pics won't be available online for 4-6 weeks but I will post the link once they are ready.

Last blog as a single woman!

I think this is probably my last blog before I get married since I'm sure I will have a million last minute things come up tomorrow!

Here are a few pictures I found entertaining from Dads Golf Week Trip. He took 250 pictures. I'm sure he was "THAT GUY."

Grandpa looks terrified and amazed all at the same time! Nice flip!

Grandma looks beautiful as usual, Grandpa still looks confused.

Guess he wasn't the only one with a camera
Does this picture even need a caption???

WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO THIS CHILD?

My favorite:
I couldn't stop laughing at Evan's face! Gotta be Joe's kid!

And the fact that Grandpa is in almost all of them was just a coincidence. I guess he is just the most entertaining in the family!

I'M STARTING TO FREAK OUT!!!
WE LEAVE IN 4 DAYS!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Dylan and I went to Concert in the Garden last night (July 3rd). What a great event. The concerts are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights starting at the end of May and the last concert is this Saturday evening. The concerts are held at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and various people play. Since this weekend was the 4th they had the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra play Patriotic Songs. America the Beautiful, Star Spangled Banner, Deep in the Heart of Texas, God Bless America, you get the point. It was about 2 ours long with a short intermission.

Dylan and I had never been so we were sure what to bring. We brought a blanket, some sub sandwiches and some waters. We were way under prepared. There were full coolers and lawn chairs and tons of stuff.
We will definitely be back next year.

We worked on wedding stuff all day in the 4th. Good excuse to stay inside out of the heat. We were going to get on the roof around 9:30 to watch some fireworks around the area but I could just see myself tumbling off, breaking an arm or a leg and being crippled or casted in my wedding. So we just walked across the street and watched them from there. I LOVE fireworks!

Ahhh, Marriage, what a wonderful thing!

Before you get married you have to get a marriage license. Once you get that you have to wait 72 hours before you can get married. I guess its a "cooling off" period or it could be a "RUN FOREST RUN" period?

Dylan and I leave for Mexico next Saturday and neither of us are taking time off between now and then so we had to squeeze in some time to go to the courthouse to get our little piece of paper so we can get married legally if we so choose to in the next 30 days. The verdict is still out BUT at least we have the process started. ;o)

I think I can get used to this whole marriage thing. As we are walking out of the courthouse, which just so happens to be right in the center of Southlake Town Center (for those who don't know, its a big outside shopping area, GREAT STORES!), Dylan says, why don't we get you a little something. He then proceeds to hand over a gift card for Banana Republic that he hadn't used. The first few minutes of us being "almost" married has been GREAT! I hope he can keep it up for the rest of our lives!

What happens in Austin stays in Austin

I had so much fun last weekend.

Friday we got to the condo, freshened up a bit then had dinner at Iron Cactus. After that we went to a a club. One of the clubs that one of the girls scouted out offered up a bottle of champagne so we decided we would sip on some champagne while we decided where to go next. About 10 minutes in, we were in VIP with 2 more bottles. Needless to say, we stayed there all night.

Saturday we got up early and floated the river. We rented this river radio that plays ipods and has sirius satellite. EVERYONE wanted to be our friends. ;o)

Saturday night 2 of the 9 girls weren't feeling so hot so they were in bed while the rest of us got ready and had a little shower of the unmentionable kind. Monica had asked Dylan some questions before we left and recorded his answers. I didn't know any of this went on so we played a game where they asked me a question and I had to say what I thought Dylan answered. They played what he said and if I got it right I got to open a present.
After all the present opening, we just decided to hang out at the condo since it was really late.

Sunday we got up and had breakfast at Magnolia Cafe, SO GOOD! Then headed home.

There may have been a detail or two that was left out but like I said, "What happens in Austin, Stays in Austin."
